I am a family physician practicing in Green, Ohio since completing my residency in 1982. As a family physician I focus on treating the entire patient and family rather than limiting myself to one subspecialty. I attended medical school at Penn State University, where I graduated in 1979 and subsequently did my residency in Family Practice at Akron City Hospital where I served as chief resident. I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and I also hold a position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University. I have been board certified in Family Practice since completing my residency in 1982.
After many years as a solo family physician I recruited my partner, Dr. Gsellman, in 1994 and we have practiced at our current location since 1995. In 2005 we joined Pioneer Physicians Inc. and we now have 2 additional partners at our location, Dr. Holloway and Dr. Myers. In my years of involvement with Pioneer I have served as Site Medical Director at Hearthstone Family Practice and I have also had the privilege of serving as President of Pioneer Physicians. We feel very fortunate to practice in a wonderful community where we place a strong emphasis on preventative medicine as well as treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
I personally have always enjoyed athletics and I continue to enjoy running, water skiing, and outdoor activities. My wife and I remain active in our church and I have recently had the privilege of providing medical care to underprivileged people during an overseas mission trip. We have 2 children, both married, and we are proud new grandparents after the birth of our grandchild, Parker, on September 12, 2015.
